MAE Jag Blast, April 2023
Message from the Principal:
Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe we are nearing the end of our year. It has been such a wonderful year so far! Thank you for your support and flexibility, especially with the construction going on right now.
In light of recent events and because nothing is more important than the safety of your child, I wanted to review some of the safety and security measures we have here at MAE. The addition will add an additional layer of safety to the front entrance. Additional exterior doors around the school stay locked and require a key card for entry. We also have assigned staff members that check these doorways throughout the day. Security cameras are also in place. As an extra layer of protection, we require that the classroom doors stay shut and locked any time the class is in the room. Our goal is to have an open and inviting environment but not at the cost of safety. Additionally, our staff completes drills and trainings in coordination with our district office and the Madison County Police Department. They help us create the drills and plans and are present in our building throughout the week. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. The safety and well-being of our students and staff is our top priority.
Once again, never hesitate to reach out to us with concerns or questions you may have about safety or your child’s progress this year.
Sincerely,
Melissa Philley
